HARBOUR MUSIC AT SFU
In 2025, I launched a pilot project through the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue at Simon Fraser University with the aim of building community through collective music-making. Harbour Music is a free singing group for SFU faculty, staff, and students, where all voices are welcome—seasoned choristers, shower soloists, and shy singers alike. I host weekly gatherings at SFU’s Harbour Centre where we sing, move, and improvise in a fun, low-pressure environment. No auditions are required, and no ability to read music is necessary.
Together, we explore a diverse repertoire spanning different traditions and eras, and we conclude each term with a joyful musical sharing meant to get everyone in the room singing along (like we did in the video here!).
Harbour Music is not only about making music but about cultivating harmony, confidence, and connection. To learn more about participating in these gatherings as a member of the SFU community, click the button below.
